#A2Z Challenge: J for Juliet

During 2018’s A-Z Challenge, we wrote the first draft of “The November Deadline” and to celebrate that this is now (finally) out with beta readers, we’ll be producing a daily piece of micro-fiction linked to it – some prequel, some containing a detail not included in the story, some snippets from sequels currently being written.

My Dear Michaela,

I am sending this via Billy as things have began to move apace, and I fear that I cannot trust the postal service.

Do not give the books to Juliet straight away – you may wish to take the time to read them yourself first.

Begin with the meditative exercises attached.  These will prevent anymore accidents.  From experience, it is unlikely that Juliet has come into her full power, so I have also provided a simple test that you can try periodically, perhaps two or three times a year, not oftener.

The game is afoot!

  1. I’m feeling a bit frustrated! I keep wanting to follow up some of these snippets but can’t find the originals in your archive. For example April 2018 has only two posts listed. What have you done with the original story??????

  2. Sorry Alan, we had to take them down due to publishing aims.

    I might be able to include them in a separate word file when I send you the manuscript for beta reading if you like? Oh & sorry for the delay on the manuscript… the back is improving, so it should be with you later this week.

    1. OK, I understand – I thought it was me having a Funny Five Minutes! 🙂 If I’m having the complete thing I won’t need the individual stories thanks. And I hope the back continues to improve. As one who some years ago suffered from a slipped disk and was off work for a couple of months I can deeply sympathise.

  5. Cannot trust the postal service – the very suggestion that the Royal Mail can’t be trusted! 🙂 I would be interested to know what the test involves, and how they can tell from it if Juliet’s powers, whatever they may be, are developing or not.
